While the students went home over Thanksgiving break, the men and women?s basketball teams were back on the hardwood.
Over the weekend, the ladies traveled down the road to Marietta for the Turkey Shoot Tournament. The women went a perfect 2-0 at the tournament, beating Daemen 60-57 on Saturday evening. Sunday was a much more comfortable win for the ladies, beating Earlham easily by a score of 64-45.
The ladies now stand at 3-1 on the year.
Hannah Nelson was named to the All-Tournament team, averaging just over 21 points and eight rebounds per game.
The accolades didn?t stop for Nelson, who earlier today was named as OAC Women?s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance over the weekend.
On the flip side, the men are still looking for their first win on the young season.
Last Tuesday, the guys dropped their home opener to Bethany College 97-87. On Saturday, the men lost a much closer game to Washington and Jefferson by a score of 81-79. Bethany?s Nate Bellhy gave the Presidents the lead with 1.6 seconds left to play with a layup.
Dave Brown keeps showing Muskie fans his talents, leading the Muskies with 17 points. Clay Owings was one rebound short of a double-double and four assists short of a triple-double, adding 12 points, nine rebounds and six assists against the Presidents.
The guys stand a 0-4 and will look for their first win of the season when they host Kenyon College on Wednesday night at 7:30.
