The North American International Auto Show for this year is underway and almost three fourth of total one million people are being expected to appear at the show. But, a recent report reminds the ones who wish to but cannot be present in person that there is social media, which is a growing alternative.
You would get to see online which cars would be there down the line. It has been found that the show would be having its own smartphone app. Not only would the app include show hours and parking, but ticket prices and floor map as well.
The app would likely be lining with social media platforms like Twitter so that users could be able to stream topics such as the hashtag #NAIAS. A virtual guide would also be there to Detroit, says the report, which would inform about weather forecasts, restaurants and businesses as well as would have live radar.
The auto companies have even started ramping themselves up for the social media use and freeing news to fans via Facebook, Instagram and livestream.
"I don't think social media kills the auto show because there's nothing like being up close with the metal. Even giving them a virtual car tour would not do it", Ford's Monty was quoted as saying.
